Our core values
The Gospel - At Lakeside we are absolutely committed to the message of the Gospel. We believe that all people are sinners whose greatest need is to be forgiven by God and eternally saved. This salvation is only found in the Person and finished work of Jesus Christ who was sent by the Father to be crucified for our sins and raised for our justification.
Expositional Preaching - We believe that every word of the Bible has been inspired by the Spirit of God. God’s Word is perfect and sufficient for both salvation and spiritual growth. It follows then that the message which must be preached from our pulpit is not one of church tradition, self-help, reform, prosperity, emotionalism, or pop psychology. Rather the message which must be heard, understood and obeyed is that of Scripture alone. We make it our habit to preach the Bible book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.
The Great Commission - We are not just a Bible club where Christians come together to gather information. Rather, as we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ through the teaching and preaching of God’s Word we must also share the good news with those around us. For this reason we encourage all of our members to prayerfully form redemptive relationships with those in their sphere of influence. We are committed to finding creative ways to serve our community as a means of sharing Jesus with others. One example of this is our partnership with Launch Workplace Readiness.
Theological Training - Christ’s disciples are commanded to make other disciples. We desire to see every Christian grow into full spiritual maturity. One way we do this is by providing ongoing theological training for those who want to further their understanding of God’s Word. We partner with the Biblical Leadership Institute in order to prepare men and women for ministry within and alongside the local church.
