Our History
Lakeside Baptist in Sedgefield began in February of 2005 with the express goal of glorifying God by reaching the community with the Gospel. The opening services began by meeting at the 'Forest Lodge'. Those present were from Sedgefield, George, and Knysna.
In June 2005 a partnership was arranged with the primary school. Lakeside would complete building of the School Hall and in return the Church would have use of the hall for Sunday services. By September of 2008, the church was officially chartered.
Since 2019 the church has been meeting in its present location on 3 Duiwe Avenue and as of 2023 we have expanded our auditorium to accommodate further church growth.
We continue to strive toward our goal of reaching the surrounding communities of the Garden Route with the Gospel. We trust in the promise of our Lord Himself "I will build my church."
